Description
HM 150.11A Losses in a Pipe System Educational Equipment Hydrodynamics Laboratory equipment

1. Equipment introduction

During actual fluid flow, pressure losses occur due to friction and turbulence (eddy currents). Pressure losses occur in pipes, pipe elements, fittings and measuring devices (e.g. flow meters, speed meters). These pressure losses must be taken into account when designing piping systems.
HM 150.11A allows the study of pressure losses in pipes, pipe elements and closing devices. In addition, the differential pressure method has also been proposed to measure flow.
The experimental setup consists of six different pipe sections that can be closed individually. Pipe segments are equipped with pipe elements such as bends, bends and branches. Within a pipe section, different intercepting devices and measuring objects are installed to determine the flow rate. The measuring object is made of transparent material, allowing good observation of the internal structure. The pressure measuring points in the pipeline system are designed as annular chambers. This creates essentially interference-free pressure measurements.
These experiments measure pressure losses in pipes and pipe elements such as branches and elbows. The opening characteristics of the closing device are also recorded. Pressure is measured with a double-tube manometer.
The experimental setup can be placed easily and securely on the work surface of the HM 150A basic module. The HM 150A supplies water and measures the flow rate. Alternatively, the experimental setup can be operated from the laboratory water supply.
