A weir is a control structure that blocks an open channel in a prescribed manner. They are often used to determine the flow rate in an open channel. The device contains two different plate weirs. These two weirs are typical measuring weirs with a clear weir opening. In the case of the Thomson weir, the opening is triangular; in the case of the Rebock weir, it is rectangular. The weir plates are installed and screwed into the base module. The installation and replacement of the weir can be quick and convenient. The water in the small experimental flume in the SSR20240307A04 fluid mechanics experiment base module flows over the weir being studied. The device also includes a water level gauge for detecting the head to determine the water level height, and then compare its measured values.
